what is a thoughtful, yet inexpensive holiday gift to give to a foster parent?
Each holiday season the foster care agency I work for puts on a holiday party. The children in care get gifts and the foster parents also get a thank you gift. We are trying to figure out a nice gift to give to each of our foster families without having to spend too much. I wish we had more money in our budget to spend a lot of money on these families who do an amazing job!
A picture frame with a note saying to take pictures of their families, now matter how much they change and grow. Or something sappy like that.
What if I told you my family never gives each other gifts?
I don’t know, it’s so weird about my family. When I was growing up, I didn’t really care. Now when everyone gets hyped up about holidays and gifts and post cards, I keep wondering what’s the big deal is. The last time I got a gift from my parents was in like 2003, my father bought me a laptop on like Dec 12th and told me it’s my birthday and Christmas gift. And I didn’t buy my parents anything because I didn’t have a job back than. Now we still don’t buy each other stuff.
Don’t get me wrong, we were never poor. And it was always like this. When I was like 5 for my birthday I got like a furry hat. I was like – cool, a hat, whatever.
So how this whole shopping thing, seems like a trivial butt pain.
And we’re not atheists. My parents are religious, and so was I till recently. Now I’m just an agnostic.
Trinibuff, I don’t. I didn’t buy anyone anything 
I’m just curious, what folks think about it.
in my family we only get for the kids and that’s it.we are Christians also but just like everyone else if we want something we get when we want it or need it.so the holidays is for the kids when it comes to gifts and the rest od us just all visit and enjoy each others company!
