Holiday Gifts Suggestions Questions
Holiday Gift Suggestions?
Ok here’s the deal. I want to buy a telescope for someone who doesnt know a thing about telescope but is really enthusiastic about astrophysics. I have looked for telescopes on alot of websites but since I myself dont know much, I havent reached a decision.
I need help in finding a telescope thats for beginners but can also be very sophisticated.
Thanks in advance!
I have tried most of the given website but since im an ameteur at buying telescopes, I need someone who can give me specific suggestions.
all depends on what that person wants to see and what is your budget.
if hez just a beginner i would suggest skywatcher 60/700 refractor. but i would suggest this if hez interested only in watching the sky and not terrestrial viewing, coz such telescopes take time to set up and over a period of time the not-so-serious amateurs loose interest in setting up the telescope, dismantling it etc etc. this telescope costs quiet less, has good quality eyepieces, looks sophisticated, weighs around 6 kgs, has a fiberglass box to carry it around.
the other one would be orion 80/400 refractor scope (around $150). it takes hardly a minute to setup, comes with a bag, weighs around 3kgs, best to carry around for travelling camping, tripod setup really easy. with this you can see craters on the moon, saturn ring and jupiter (not for distant stars). images are crisp.
if you have a higher budget then remember aperture is king. but most importantly buy something that will be used and not be kept in the closet collecting dust.
Holiday gifts for friends from Egypt?
hi, im going on holiday to Egypt for two weeks very shortly and i always bring back my friends a small gift from a holiday abroad as they do for me.
I have never been to Egypt so i have no idea what to get them, i have 6 14 year old girls to buy for.
any suggestions welcome, but i don’t want it to be edible at all
thank you
I and my friends are from the UK by the way.x
Hi again.
They sell nice scarves, in shiny fabrics, all jewell coloured with tassles, that can be worn round the neck, shoulders or waist. Also Pashminas that are thicker for the wintery weather.
Also we bought purses, handbags ~ but if you just want something very inexpensive the (hotel) shop sells a good range of necklaces and bangles.
You’ll be spoilt for choice! And they take £10 and £20 in sterling, even pound coins. My little girls got lots of lovely trinkets. They even got fridge magnets, pens, pencil cases and key rings.
If you are at the holiday village (previous Q) the shops are great and not over priced, good competitive prices.
