how much do u spend for teacher’s thank you gifts?

im buying thank u gifts for the teacher and her assistants in my child’s class. do u spend the same amount for teacher and her assistants? there’s about 4 people total and i called other parents but nobody wants to contribute, (this happened for the holidays and teacher’s appreciation week too). also,my child works more and really likes with one of the assistants, is it ok if hers will be a little more than the other assistants? would the other ones feel bad when they see hers is more expensive?

Give what you see fit to give – according to what you can afford.

My oldest sister just went through this issue as well. And I went with her and her 2 kids to go gift shopping. My niece had a favorite assistant that really worked well with her and helped her reading along quite well. So my sister decided to let her pick the gift in a certain price range (higher than the other 3). My nephew didn’t have a favorite, so she got his teacher and her assistant similar gift sets from Bath & Body works. And my niece got her teacher a stationary set and her assistant – the one she likes best – a gift set from Bath & Body works along with a gift card to $25 gift card to Wal-Mart.

But you should have a price range that you let them help you pick out the gifts from. Since it is a ‘gift’ they others shouldn’t be expecting anything at all. If they are not pleased they got something less expensive than the other assistant – so be it!
