Holiday Gift Amount Questions
What is the appropriate Christmas gift for the mailman?
Hi, I was wondering what (if anything) I should get my mailman for a holiday gift?
I run a small home based company and he picks up my packages at least 2X a week, he’s always very helpful and over the year or so he’s been doing my route I have learned a little about him and his family.
I was thinking a gift card to a family style restaurant IE: TGIFridays, or Chilis, along with a card and maybe some Christmas cookies? But if this is an appropriate gift – what should the amount of the giftcard be?
I really just want to say thank you for a good well done and let the guy know he’s appreciated.

The best gift is usually cash! Give him a Christmas card and enclose some cash! How much would have to be your call as only you would know how much he deserves!!!
Do you still buy Christmas presents for your grown nieces?
Mine are in their mid/late 20’s and have never so much as acknowledged my presents much less bought anything for me or my sister who give them gifts every year. Their dad, my brother, is very well off and can afford to give them anything their hearts desire (and has). My sis and I are thinking it’s time to send a card, wish them a happy holiday and leave it at that. I love them dearly but my little gift ain’t going to amount to much in the grand scheme of their lives anyway. Am I a scrooge?
Not at all! As we mature we should not continue to expect gifts at christmas.Sending anyrthing (like a card) will remind them that you love them.
