What would you do if your childs fathers girlfriend sends your child a birthday gift?
My kids dad lives in another country and his girlfriend lives in the same state that we do. He said that she was sending a birthday gift to our son from him. Fine I have no problem with that. Then he calls me on our son’s b-day and asked if she can bring it over. Had a little problem with that but we had plains already and was not going to be home anyway. So I tell him to have her mail it like he said she would. When the gifts arrives one is from him and one is from her and her son. She has ment my child twice, once when I asked her to come along on one of dad’s visits when we both had to be at something. The other time is when my kid’s dad took him to his familys for an event. I am a little upset. I feel she has no right to send my kid gifts. He doesn’t even know her what should I do?

If it’s a serious relationship between him and her, and they end up getting married, she’ll become his step mom. They need to create a bond. There’s nothing wrong with her sending him a gift. If she said anything about it being from a second mom then I’d have an issue. The fact that it was from her and her son should tell you she means no harm by it.

Should I just wait until he is leaving and tell him to meet me at my car? I seriously run the risk of forgetting about it if we do this though because Christmas Eve is busy at our house.
