Added Protection for Your Long Distance Birthday Presents
A lot of families will have members currently living overseas whether they are away travelling on a gap year, have moved for work or have retired abroad. There are a large number of British people living abroad now that it is clear that some families may feel a little distant especially as many Brits’ choice of destination is often on the other side of the world in places like Australia, Canada or New Zealand.
A great way to show you are still thinking of them as well as making sure they stay in touch is sending birthday or Christmas presents to them wherever they may be. Sending gifts is as simple as sending any parcel but you may want to take extra care if you are sending a gift as you may be sending something fragile that you don’t want to arrive at your relative’s home battered and broken.
The trouble is many people will want to send their gift in appropriate gift wrap with ribbons and bows especially if it is for children or grandchildren but the wrapping paper and ribbons just aren’t up to the task of protecting your present when it travels overseas where it could be stacked or bumped or torn in transit.
There is a way though to protect your gift but also keep it looking like a traditional birthday present. The best option is to use a slightly larger box to place your gift in; if it is a square box shaped gift then you won’t have as much of a task to do but small or irregularly shaped objects may need a bit more insulation.
Insulation can come in many forms but as long as it is lightweight and provides a cushioning barrier around your gift then it will do the job, common insulating materials include: scrunched up newspaper, bubble wrap (a gift in itself for some children, for popping) or polystyrene chips. As long as you have plenty of room around your gift such as an inch’s worth of insulation and there isn’t any room for your gift to move around or be knocked then you should have the perfect solution.
As long as your parcel is securely packed and taped up then your gift will arrive safely and when the ugly outer box is opened then safely stowed away inside should be your appropriately wrapped present ready to be torn open by the receiver.
If you need a courier company to send your parcels internationally then make sure you choose a company with plenty of experience in international delivery to make sure your gift, parcel or any delivery goes off smoothly

Birthday Gifts Long Distance Questions
What would be a great gift for a long-distance relationship?
I have been in a long distance relationship for almost 2 years. Anniversary is the 13th of October. I want to send something to my boyfriend for his birthday Nov. 5. He sent me a diamond and sapphire necklace on my 16th birthday. Always helps me remember that he’s there and cares for me. What can I get him that he can always keep close and remember me?
Please and Thank You <3
something you can spray perfume on… then he will have the scent of you (if you wear perfume)
Ladies please! Long distance relationship gift ideas?
I have a great relationship with my girl, the only prob is that we live far far away (south america, states) We were friends for a long time before getting serious and I’ve tried to send her lil gifts now and then, simple things like cards, pics, teddy bears, etc. I sent her a BUNCH of roses once and she went nuts
The prob is that her bday is coming up and I don’t think flowers are gonna be enough (I already sent her roses) and I feel our relationship is growing even more now!! Plane tickets? we might spend a week together in a few months and I’ll buy the plane tickets, but I need a birthday gift idea for this October! I used FedEx a lot so the gift will have to be small
