Birthday Gifts Etc Questions
How would you buy someone an website for their birthday or Christmas etc on Ebay?
Does anyone have any idea on how to buy someone a website, that’s totally automated, etc (no matience) for some one’s birthday, Christmas etc? is there a proper way to do it there? has anyone here ever done something like this as gift for some one? How did you do it?Did they enjoy it and were they thankful for it?
First off, you CANT have a maintenance free website. Someone has to host it and take care of it. This will cost you a monthly fee unless you build one yourself. If the person is interested in their own webstie, buy them some website building software.
What do you think are the main reasons parents buy gifts for their children? (love, guilt, whining etc)?
Also, if you are a parent to a child age 4-10, how highly do you think your child values toys (compared to non-material relations like family and friends)? Do you think that family and friends are vehicles for gift giving, so for example (1) a child may like seeing their grandparent simply because of the sweets/money they give them (2)children associate certain family members with gifts and material objects as the only times they see them are birthdays/christmas.
This is not my personal opinion but some questions i am researching at university. I would be extremely grateful if you would outline your opinions on these issues. Thanks!
Appart from birthdays and other holidays, I think today it’s 60% to reward for good deeds, 30% to shut them up, and 10% of a whole bunch of other stuff.
Today I do think children associate most of thier relatives with gifts and it’s mostly due to the parents. The only time they’ll see grandparents/aunts and family freinds are during birthdays and special occasions and everyone spends a fortune on gifts. The parents ruin themselves and “spoil”, if we can say, their kids. The danger isn’t when they’re young, but rather when they’ll be older, when it’ll be time for them to move out from their parent’s. The preparation of money management and in turn appreciating what you purchase with it starts early, I’d say around 10 or 11 years old. Kids today, from 8 to 18 emotionally need all the luxories they’ve been freely handed thier whole life and either will revolt if not given once gone from home, load up credit, and/or have some sort of depressive reaction. We’ve been seeing this effect on the long run with what I believe is the cause of a great number of the seperations families go through. Divorces have become commun since commercialism and consumerism came to be in the 70ies.
This being said, I have no kids but with my neices and nephews, I get them things when children and start giving them cash at x mas around the age of 10. For thier birthdays, a pat on the back is pleanty. All the other holidays are the same. The kids were dissapointed when they were aware, at the age of 5 or 6, that I didn’t show with gifts other than x mas, but instead I spend time with them, play and listen to them. Today a few of them are 12 and 13 and the confide in me more than thier own parents. We now have a freindship, not just a family relation.
